Deep gratitude goes to Aspex Kumbong for helping build this site and giving the people a chance to better benefit from maintaining environmental hygiene and sustainability

BOGOR – On Tuesday (11/1), Aspex Kumbong officially opened a communal waste management unit at Bojong Nangka Village’s Community Association (RW) 19 in Gunung Putri Subdistrict, Bogor Regency. This event was held under the banner of Corporate Social Contribution, Aspex Kumbong’s CSR program.

The company’s general manager attended along with Bojong Nangka’s village chief, Bogor Regency Environmental Service’s section leader, Rinjani Eco-Friendly Subvillage’s leader, Korindo Group’s LIC officers, and local environmental enthusiasts.

Designed to optimize waste storage, processing, and disposal, this facility endorses state nature protection efforts while also demonstrating multistakeholder collaboration and commitment to finding sustainable waste-handling solutions.

“[We think] the [waste processing center] project is well-positioned. It’s set up where effective waste solutions are needed, has a carefully planned system, and offers direct benefits for locals. We highly appreciate the support Aspex is giving to our environmental program, which is central to concerted efforts to create a cleaner and healthier environment,” said Bogor Regency Environmental Service’s section leader Surya Sumini.

Also extending his deepest gratitude was Bojong Nangka’s village chief, Amir Arsyad. “Our deep gratitude goes to Aspex Kumbong for helping build this site and giving our people a chance to better benefit from maintaining environmental hygiene and sustainability.”

At the launch, Rinjani Eco-Friendly Subvillage’s leader Hasbullah explained in detail the facility’s role in organic waste treatment. Bojong Nangka’s waste management unit will be a key part of the village’s efforts to convert biodegradable remains like dried leaves and tree pruning residues into nutrient-rich compost. Its EM4-based composting method allows for rapid and efficient decomposition.

“Within months, we will be able to produce high-quality compost for local farms and home gardens, bringing long-term positive impacts on our environment and economy,” he said.
On the other hand, Aspex Kumbong’s general manager, Jung Chan Ho, highlighted environmental sustainability as the company’s main reason for championing the project.

“The growing environmental awareness in Bojong Nangka and the village’s adoption of 3R principles [Reduce, Reuse, Recycle] were what encouraged us to back this project. It’s our hope that this site upholds the natural balance and reinforces the village’s sustainability pledge.”

The establishment will be sustained by RW 19’s waste disposal system, including a waste bank to which residents have been sending their non-organic scraps for five years and four times a month. Going forward, its operations are expected to run optimally, setting an example for sustainable, integrated waste management. (Nunung/AK)
