JAKARTA – On Friday (1/12), Korindo Group conducted the kick-off ceremony of this year’s National Occupational Safety and Health Month (BK3N), which would last from January 12 to February 12. Its subsidiaries’ boards of management, HSE teams, Occupational Safety and Health committees, and division leaders were present at this virtual event.
The ceremony had a banner draping segment; written on the banner was this year’s theme, “K3 [Occupational Safety and Health] Culture Creates Safe, Healthy Work and Sustainable Business”. It continued with K3 mandate reading by Korindo Group’s Learning and Innovation Center head Setiyono.
“One of the keys to building the best employment ecosystem is a good occupational safety and health culture. It reduces occupational accidents and diseases and helps improve productivity at work,” said the mandate.
Through Manpower Ministerial Decree No. KEP.13/MEN/1984 (in effect from 1984 to 1992), the state and its stakeholders have made intensive efforts to promote occupational safety and health through what’s called the K3 National Campaign for a whole month, from January 12 to February 12. Later on, it would be known as BK3N.
This year’s BK3N celebrations are an effort to build employee awareness and compliance with occupational safety and health norms, help staff increase occupational safety and health knowledge, and endorse the concept of environment, health, and safety.
Following the kick-off, there will be activities like emergency response drill video competition, HSE quiz, and HSEMS Internal Audit Interpretation standardization workshop to spice up the month. (PR)
