Cileungsi – Bogor’s acting regent Iwan Setiawan has recently traveled east to Cileungsi Subdistrict for Rebo Keliling — Bogor Regency’s community visit program — where he inspected some development projects. At the event, which took place on Thursday (8/10) instead of its normal schedule (Wednesdays, or Rebo in local language), he was joined by Halimatussadiyah Iwan, the head of Bogor Regency’s Family Empowerment and Welfare mobilizer team.
During their time there, both leaders also participated in handover ceremonies, including one involving the family of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Indonesia’s social security program) member and PT Aspex Kumbong employee, Sunaryo. In light of his death, his family was to receive cash benefits from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s death security program, where Sunaryo was enrolled in.
The man had suffered an attack at work and was immediately brought to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead less than 24 hours later. The way it unfolded made this situation a workplace accident.
Setiawan handed over the payment to the inheritor, who was accompanied by Aspex management representative Jung Chan Ho. The family was paid 448,405,208 IDR in total; this consisted of employment injury and death benefits of 307,806,208 IDR, pension security money of 74,599,000 IDR, and a scholarship worth 66,000,000 IDR.
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s Membership Division head for Bogor-Cileungsi area, Soni C Wirawan, was present in the ceremony. He told the audience how the social security agency continues to make sure every member — even the new ones — is protected from workplace incidents and deaths, and benefit recipients enjoy their rights as defined in BPJS regulations.
For the handover, Sunaryo’s wife and heiress Siti Maemunah showed her gratitude, saying the money will be really useful for her family and their livelihood going forward.
