CILEUNGSI – The Cileungsi District government in Bogor Regency, West Java, doubles down on environmental preservation through a recent greening program set to increase plant cover and biodiversity across state-owned public and social facilities.
PT Aspex Kumbong took part by providing seedlings and drilling wells to support irrigation and plant care.
“We are grateful to PT Aspex Kumbong, [most importantly] Mr. Geuntai Kim and his officials who attend on behalf of the company. [PT Aspex Kumbong] has done its part for the district and today’s launch of this urban forest,” said Cileungsi District leader, Adi Henryana, MSc Friday (2/13).
The greening program is part of a broader strategy to increase urban green space coverage and maintain local ecosystem balance. It’s also aimed at beautification and education, through which children learn to be environmentally responsible.

1,200 seedlings were planted in two sessions: first at CitraLand Cibubur on Thursday (2/5), and second at Metland Transyogi on Friday (2/13). Around 450 seedlings were set in soil at the kick-off, with the remaining 750 rooted a week later.
This initiative may be a meaningful step towards greener, healthier, and more sustainable environments, said Geuntai Kim.
“By bringing together companies, governments, and citizens, this program can leave lasting impacts [on communities] and cement environmental awareness among the people.”
Friday (2/13) had the Cileungsi District Head leading the session, followed by members of the local Forkopimcam (district leadership communication forum), Danramil (military subdistrict command), and police force. Accompanying them were the representatives of Cileungsi’s Environmental Service, Social Service, Economic Affairs and Development Department, and related technical implementation units (UPTs) — in addition to the Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development, village leaders, community figures, scouts, and Cipicung Public Elementary (SDN Cipicung) students.
Camaraderie and teamwork filled the air. The diverse range of participants demonstrated a multi-stakeholder synergy in protecting the ecosystems at Cileungsi District. (PR)
