JAKARTA – Anita is always enthusiastic when a blood drive is held. This year marks her fourth year as a donor. Since she first started donating, Anita, who works in the Cleaning Service Department, admits to feeling an indescribable inner satisfaction. She sees it as more than just a social routine, but a tangible form of care for others.

“I feel grateful to be able to help others with just a drop of blood. It’s simple, but the impact is significant. Besides, my body feels better after donating, almost lighter,” she remarked.

Mayang Regina and Reza Khairul Kahfi, from the IT and HRD&GA Departments respectively, echoed this sentiment. They acknowledged that participating in the blood drive is not only a valuable opportunity to help others but also a way to improve their personal health.

“This is my first time donating blood, so I prepared by eating healthy, protein-rich foods for the past week. I plan to donate again in the future, because I feel it makes me more beneficial to others,” said Mayang.

Reza added, “First, this activity is good for others, and second, my body usually feels fresher after donating. I’ve already donated three times here.”

Anita, Mayang Regina, and Reza Khairul Kahfi were three of the dozens who participated in the blood drive at Wisma Korindo. Held on Tuesday (21/10/2025) with the theme “Korindo Blood Drive, One Drop of Blood, A Million Hopes For All,” the event successfully collected 83 blood bags.

The collected blood bags will then be transported to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) unit for processing and storage. Each bag will be inspected first to ensure its safety before being distributed to patients in need.

This process includes eligibility tests and screening for various infectious diseases to ensure the donated blood is completely safe for use. Once cleared, the blood is stored in the PMI blood bank and prepared for distribution to hospitals or other healthcare facilities as needed.

Blood donation is more than just a typical social activity. It can be a lifesaver for patients requiring transfusions due to accidents, major surgeries, chronic illnesses, or conditions like thalassemia and anemia. For many people, donating blood is the most tangible way to contribute socially. By donating, we directly offer a chance at life to others who might be in critical condition.

The blood drive aligns with the company’s Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) principles, representing empathy, tangible action, and genuine care for the community. When donating blood, individuals not only provide hope to others but also support their own health and strengthen solidarity within society. (PR)
