BOGOR – Korindo Foundation collaborated with PT Aspex Kumbong to launch the Corporate Social Contributions (CSC) Program in environmental sector called Korindo Green Corner. Korindo Green Corner is one of the integrated reforestation programs to rehabilitate non-productive lands into productive lands that are not only used as a greening zone but also zone for fruit trees cultivation.

The Pilot Project of this Program was located on an open land at PT Aspex Kumbong, Cileungsi District, Bogor Regency. The program launch was also held to commemorate Indonesia’s Tree Planting Day (HMPI) which falls on November 28th, 2020.

This activity was attended by representatives of the Management of Korindo Foundation, the Management of PT Aspex Kumbong, Ministry of Environment & Forestry, Bogor Regency Environmental Office, and Workers and Employees Union of Korindo Group by adhering to health protocols in order to prevent transmission and spread of the Covid-19 virus.

A total of 1,300 seedlings consisting of 1,200 vetiver plants, 50 hardwood trees, and 50 fruit trees (mango, jackfruit, guava, and walnuts) were planted on the Korindo Green Corner area.

In addition to planting, periodic land maintenance and care will also be carried out as a continuous effort for the program. In the future, the program will be carried out not only in Korindo Group’s internal area, but also in non-productive lands in the wider community. (rezza)
