KORINDO Foundation Receives Award for Commitment Towards Education

Yogyakarta – KORINDO Foundation received an award from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) for its commitment so far in improving education in Indonesia. The awarding event was held at the Senate Hall of UGM, Yogyakarta, on Friday (10/8) in a meeting called “A Synergy Between Partners and Students of UGM in Building a Generation Prepared to Welcome the Industry Revolution 4.0.”

KORINDO Foundation has been working together with UGM for 12 years in order to provide scholarships for top achieving students. In the period of 2005-2017, as many as 65 UGM students received scholarship grant from KORINDO Foundation with the total amount reaching Rp207.000.000,-.

According to Mr. Yi Sun Hyeong as General Secretary of KORINDO Foundation, the scholarship program for students in this university is one of KORINDO’s commitments in improving the quality of education in Indonesia.

Previously, KORINDO has also provided scholarship grants to universities in other regions, such as Jakarta, Bandung, and Bogor. Through the scholarship program from KORINDO Foundation, selected top achieving students will also have a chance to continue their studies in one of the universities in South Korea.

KORINDO’s contribution through scholarship program does not stop here. According to plan on September 2018, KORINDO Foundation will provide more scholarship grants for students in five universities, namely UI, UGM, UNAS, UPI, and IPB. (pr)
