JAKARTA – This year, Korindo Foundation returns with its scholarship program that caters to children of Korindo employees. It’s the company’s way to appreciate those who perform well in their own fields of interest, may they be academics, sports, or art. The handover ceremony happened Thursday (9/14) at Wisma Korindo (Korindo Headquarters) and was attended by some of the scholarship beneficiaries and their parents, Korindo management, and Korindo Foundation’s general secretary Seo Jeongsik.
The Employee Children’s Scholarship program was initiated in 1998, with total beneficiaries reaching 2019. It is part of Korindo’s commitment to “educating the nation”, Seo said in his speech.
“This is how we prove our commitment to help students all over Indonesia. We fully realize they are a national asset that must be protected and developed to be able to contribute to this country. We have delivered 2019 scholarships through this program, and this year, I’m really satisfied to see our staff showing massive interest and enthusiasm. For students, I hope all of you work even harder and be someone your parents and country are proud of,” he added.
This annually-held event typically begins with an application submission period in August, where students can send in their report cards and other supporting documents to be screened by an internal judging panel. This year, 97 applicants were deemed worthy for the scholarship. Employee Children’s Scholarship is open for middle and high-schoolers whose parent (or parents) works at Korindo Group or its subsidiaries.
One awardee representative, Muhammad Dafa, was thankful. “Words are not enough to convey my gratitude, but I want to say thank you to Korindo Group, and that I’m honored to have been granted the trust to use this scholarship. It definitely pushed me to make more achievements. Again, thank you.”
This program is expected to boost student motivation and employee productivity. We, Korindo Group, are committed to supporting educational and scientific development, and will always try to contribute to the progress in Indonesia through our Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) programs. We believe education stands at the forefront of national advancement towards winning the global competition. (PR)
