JAKARTA – As a multi-sector corporation, Korindo Group is firmly committed to implementing the occupational safety and health management system (OSHMS/HSEMS) at its manufacturing and service-providing subsidiaries.

These subsidiaries include gas station and rest stop operator Bimaruna Marga Jaya (BMJ), which is based in Cibubur. BMJ takes its responsibility to run the system seriously, an action underscoring the importance of work health and safety to the service-oriented company.

Following its operation of the OSHMS in 2019, BMJ has gradually made progress towards meeting all requirements in Government Regulation 50/2012. Yet, it faces a tough challenge in the process, mainly in engaging external stakeholders like tenants, who need the most awareness of OSHMS.

In spite of this, the internal HSE team continues to demonstrate tenacity and maximum effort, eventually enabling BMJ to effectively tackle and prevent the issue from disrupting its management system.

But it is the management’s unbridled support and strong commitment that are critical to the company’s success, as well as its “SATISFACTORY” rating at a recent OSHMS assessment by an accredited external audit body.

This achievement reflects BMJ’s promise to ensure its system meets applicable standards, especially in creating a safe and healthy workplace for stakeholders.

Budimansyah, BMJ’s HRD/GA manager, praised all parties supporting the OSHMS program and striving for its success in the audit. “I would like to thank the company leaders, our HSE team, and all departments for their full-on support and great collaboration, which brought us these results.”

He hoped the OSHMS certificate would boost Cibubur Rest Area’s service quality and customer convenience and further attract more visitors and drive business growth in the increasingly competitive climate.

“With our system now certified, I hope service quality and comfort can improve, help draw more customers and [finally] allow our company to grow and go forward,” Budimansyah added.

BMJ is hoped to set an example for other Korindo Group subsidiaries and non-Korindo companies in the relevant industry, encourage a safe and healthy work culture, and cement customer trust in the quality of its service. (PR)
