CILEUNGSI — PT Aspex Kumbong’s Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) program has done wonders for maternal and childcare in Dayeuh Village, Cileungsi District. Tulip 2 Posyandu, the local mom-and-baby clinic, has seen attendance rise from 50% to nearly 90% since receiving support from the company.
At its latest event, Dayeuh children aged 0-5 took height, weight, and head circumference measurements in addition to dewormers and vitamin A supplements. Expectant mothers also benefited from health screenings tailored to them.
To keep these services running, Tulip 2 Posyandu is working with state-operated community health center Cileungsi Puskesmas and PT Aspex Kumbong.
“We’ve got midwives from the Puskesmas to help with vaccines and pregnancy check-ups,” said Tulip 2 Posyandu leader Ismaniah. “We’re also funded by the company [PT Aspex Kumbong] to provide supplementary meals.”
This money is used to improve meal quality and variety to make them more nutritious and appealing. Developed by local puskesmases, supplementary meals feature healthy ingredients with minimal processing and no additional preservatives.

So far, their upgrades have impacted engagement with Posyandu programs, said midwife-in-charge Indri Sari.
“Higher-quality meals are attracting more mothers to our events. We’ve seen participation go up to nearly 90%.”
Before PT Aspex Kumbong, it was locals who mostly financed PMT — short for the supplementary meal service — through a voluntary fee scheme. The remaining funds came from the village government, and altogether afforded only simple meals.
It’s what makes the company vital to Tulip 2 Posyandu’s future, said Mamay Jamhari, member of Dayeuh’s Family Empowerment and Welfare mobilizer team.
“PT Aspex Kumbong’s support has been invaluable for PMT and Tulip 2 Posyandu cadres. The company is holding up the future of these cadres and the village healthcare system.”
With help from its stakeholders, Tulip 2 Posyandu hopes to remain a frontline health service for mothers and children while boosting early awareness of check-ups at Dayeuh Village. (PR)
