PANGKALAN BUN – Forest and land fires remain a serious concern for West Kotawaringin Regency in Central Kalimantan. This issue has prompted stakeholders to reinforce response efforts and on-the-ground preparedness.
Among them is PT Korindo Aria Bima Sari (KABS), which on Thursday (9/3/2026) delivered logistical support consisting of mineral water and food ingredients to the West Kotawaringin Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).
This donation was presented in person by Rachmad Effendi, KABS’s HR Manager, and his team. Rachmad said it reflected KABS’s commitment to wildfire prevention and mitigation, which includes meeting the basic needs of onsite firefighting personnel.
“We hope this logistical support will meet the needs of onsite teams. We’re aware that collaboration is key to fire mitigation, so we want to take part in what BPBD is doing.”

Corporate participation is crucial in building cross-sectoral cooperation, which will enhance mitigation effectiveness and minimize disaster impacts on affected ecosystems and communities, Rachmad added.
Wildfires not only harm the environment; they also disrupt public activities and degrade public health through haze exposure. Rapid containment through integrated, collective measures is critical to reducing associated risks.
By providing staples, KABS will help the local government take better, faster action. In collaboration with the private sector, local communities, and other stakeholders, West Kotawaringin can improve regional readiness and response to fire incidents. (PR)
