JAKARTA – Bimaruna Jaya (BRJ) has been awarded an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certificate, which represents recognition from Indonesia’s Directorate General of Customs and Excise for companies meeting compliance, internal control system, and security standards in their export-import operations.
This achievement elevates BRJ’s status as the first AEO-certified Korean logistics firm in Indonesia. Generally, authorized economic operators are locally-based manufacturers, along with a few logistics providers.
BRJ’s certificate is issued for the firm’s seven areas of expertise: transportation, freight forwarding, NVOCC services, container yard operations, warehouse operations, consolidation, and customs brokerage. With this breadth of offerings, BRJ joins the list of domestic AEOs with the broadest scope of accreditation.
BRJ’s manager Wonik Kim said Tuesday (12/30) that the feat was achieved through years of commitment to following compliance and security standards.
“It’s [definitely] an important milestone in our path to bringing reliable, secure, and law-compliant logistics services. We hope this success helps us gain more trust from our partners and stakeholders nationwide.”
AEO certificates are granted to businesses that conform to customs regulations, maintain a proper internal control system, are financially sound, and adopt adequate security standards. These businesses will be able to benefit from easier customs procedures, lower inspection rates, and faster customs services.
Being AEO-certified also enhances the added value of one’s products and services, thanks to the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) that enables access to cross-border customs facilities. BRJ expects this scheme to promote logistics efficiency and increase its competitive edge in global trade.
Part of Korindo Group, Bimaruna Jaya has been serving domestic cargo needs since 1990. Its services span from export-import shipping to customs administration, powered by a 67,904 m2 logistics facility and a 300-unit truck fleet with 24-hour GPS trackers. (*)
