Fairfield by Marriott, a global 4-star hotel brand under the Marriott chain, is set to open in Merauke, South Papua, in 2026 through a partnership with Korindo Group’s subsidiary, Puri Abadi Indonesia. Strategically located near Mopah International Airport, the hotel will feature 184 rooms, a ballroom, meeting spaces, dining venues, and leisure facilities, all designed with a “Luxury Papua” concept that blends modern elegance with local cultural elements. The project aims to boost tourism, support business travel, and benefit the local economy, with strong backing from regional leaders and a commitment to hiring indigenous workers.
