JAKARTA – Korindo Group encourages communities around the company’s area to achieve economic independence through hydroponic cultivation. Through Korindo Foundation, the company often provides hydroponic installations, vegetable seeds, to intensive mentoring. This assistance is expected to help the community to earn additional income.
In March, Korindo once again provided assistance in hydroponic and aquaponic installations to residents of Pengadegan Urban Village, Pancoran, Jakarta, who live near the Ciliwung River. The installations, with a capacity of 200 plant holes and 1,000 freshwater fish, was handed over to the residents through Arpati Farmers Group of RT 08/001. Until now, the community has several times enjoyed the harvest of bok choy and catfish.
Korindo also collaborated with Saparno, a Pengadegan resident, who had received hydroponic training from Korindo Foundation, as a facilitator and mentor of Arpati Farmers Group RT 08/001. Previously, Korindo Foundation had worked together with Saparno to develop Hydroponic Village in a narrow alley in Pengadegan Urban Village.
