The Number of Blood Donors Surpassed the Target

Jakarta – KORINDO Group in cooperation with Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of North Jakarta held a Blood Donation event at Wisma KORINDO on Thursday, November 15, 2018. This is the second event in 2018 carried out by KORINDO to answer the high enthusiasm of donors in KORINDO and its surrounding area. This time, KORINDO managed to donate 168 blood bags to PMI, or exceeded the amount of donors on May 2018 which reached 156 blood bags.

Based on the data, 222 prospective donors have been registered at the PMI registration desk. From that number, 168 persons were able to donor, while the other 54 person were unable to continue the blood donation process due to blood pressure, blood viscosity, and other factors.

Philipus Rikin as the Head of the KORINDO Blood Donation Committee expressed his gratitude for the supports and positive responses from all of parties in KORINDO blood donation action. “Not only it is beneficial for others, the blood donation is also beneficial for the donors to maintain their health,” Rikin said in the middle of event. He also expected that through this event, KORINDO would be able to partake in contributing to those who need it, as well as increasing the blood stock.

On the same occasion, dr. Nurbeti as the Person in Charge of PMI North Jakarta’s Car Unit conveyed her appreciation for KORINDO’s initiative to hold the second blood donation event in this year. “Thank you for the coordination and collaboration, so that the event went smoothly and successfully,” dr. Nurbeti said.

The blood donation event carried the theme of “Healthy for You, Benefits for Others”. The blood donor participants came from various parties, such as employees of KORINDO Group, tenants at Wisma KORINDO, and also communities around the company area.

At the end of the event, PMI explained that the blood bags that had been collected at this event would later be processed and distributed to those who need the availability of blood bags. [PR]
