PANGKALAN BUN/TABENGAN.COM – PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) held a social action titled, “PT Korintiga Hutani Cares Flood Relief,” where the company handed over a donation to the government to be distributed to residents who are affected by the flood. This donation handover event was attended in person by the Director of PT Korintiga Hutani, Mr. Park Jung Myung and the General Manager of PT Korintiga Hutani, Rais Sugito.

The donation was directly received by the Regent of Kobar, Hj. Nurhidayah at the Hall of Pangkut Urban Village, North Arut Subdistrict, Thursday (26/08). The event was also attended by elements of the muspika (subdistrict government authorities) of North Arut Subdistrict, Head of PUPR Service Junni Gultom, Head of BPBD of Kobar Syahruni, the Health Service, Head of Social Service Ahmad Yani, and the Head of Transportation Service of Kobar, Fitriyana.

In his welcoming speech, the Director of PT Korintiga Hutani, Mr. Park Jung Myung said that the donation provided was a form of concern for the people affected by the flood, and he hoped that the donation could be distributed to 11 villages in North Arut Subdistrict and 1 village in South Arut Subdistrict.

“We fully handed over to the government in terms of the donation distribution, because so far we have always been trying to be there for both the community and the government, and this is a part of our act of concern,” Mr. Park Jung Myung stated.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of PT Korintiga Hutani, Rais Sugito described in detail that the donation given to the government consisted of 7,440 packs (186 boxes) of instant noodles, 550 sacks of 5 kg of rice, 200 boxes of mineral water, 11 sacks of 50 kg of granulated sugar, 25 boxes of canned milk, 70 boxes of Rinso detergent, 4 boxes of sweet soy sauce, and 5 boxes of Paseo Smart tissues.

At the same time, the Regent of Kobar, Hj. Nurhidayah, on behalf of herself and the regional government expressed her gratitude to PT Korintiga Hutani for providing assistance to the communities affected by the flood, which without a doubt has hampered people’s activities.

“I hope people won’t look at the amount of the donation, but instead at the company’s sincerity and concern for the community. I hope other companies will follow suit and provide assistance to the people affected by the flood,” Regent of Kobar, Hj. Nurhidayah said.

The regent continued by saying that her visit to North Arut was held in order to oversee the flood disaster, which had hit the community settlements on the riverbank for almost a week.

“This flood disaster always occurs every year ahead of the peak of rainy season, therefore long before that happened, BPBD of Kobar had carried out mapping and preparation to deal with this disaster, so once it happened, the team immediately went down to the field,” the regent explained.

According to her, the flood disaster management efforts are done during and after the flood, because even in post-flood situations, one needs to be aware of impacts that usually appear, such as dengue fever and diarrhea, so the Health Service of Kobar must make a list of the health workers and the needs for medicines .c-uli
