KORINDO Foundation Sends Indonesian Students to Korea

JAKARTA – KORINDO Foundation is sending two students from Universitas Indonesia to Korea through the Yonsei University Exchange Program 2019. This is marked by the scholarship awarding ceremony on Tuesday (29/1) at the Campus of Universitas Indonesia, Depok, West Java.

In the program, Korindo Foundation is collaborating with PT Prime Freight Indonesia which is also actively building the quality of human resources in Indonesia through the education scholarship program.

Present in the awarding ceremony were the General Secretary of Korindo Foundation, Mr. Yi Sun Hyeong, accompanied by Mr. Mulia Wijaya from Korindo Foundation, and the Program Coordinator of Korean Language Studies of Universitas Indonesia, Eva Latifah, Ph.D.

The two student recipients of this year’s scholarships from Yonsei University, Korea are Anastasia Hannas Putri and Edlyn Jhon. Both are students from Korean Language & Culture Studies of Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia. They will be studying at Yonsei University for 10 months.

Anastasia Hannas Putri dan Edlyn Jhon expressed their gratitude and joy after receiving the scholarships from Korindo Foundation. “I will use this opportunity to study as best as I can and treat it as an experience for me,” Anastasia said. Both recipients hoped that this scholarship could be useful to build a good future.

 

 

It has a become a tradition for Korindo Foundation to provide scholarship program for students to study at Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea since 2003. This 2019 becomes the 18th time Korindo Foundation has provided similar scholarships. Mr. Yi Sun Hyeong said that the scholarship program has been consistently held by Korindo as one of the forms of support from private sector towards the government program in field of education. He hoped that the scholarship recipients can put the knowledge gained into good practice.

Korindo Foundation so far has provided scholarships to 729 students with the total worth of more than 2 billion rupiah. The scholarships were given to students from undergraduate and graduate programs to continue their study in South Korea.
