JAKARTA – Tuberculosis (TB) is an illness known for its high transmission rate. Last year, over 700,000 cases of TB were found in Indonesia (Health Ministry), putting the country in third place in terms of incidence, or after India and China.
In South Jakarta alone, this disease has infected up to 8,276 people. With numbers remaining high, Korindo Foundation worked with Jakarta’s Health Service and Pancoran’s subdistrict and urban village governments on “Getting Ready to Combat Tuberculosis”, a health seminar for the local community.
“This Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) program [the seminar] is our contribution to the TB fight. We hope our female audience, Family Empowerment and Welfare (FEW) members, can share their takeaways from this event with the people around them,” said Korindo Foundation’s General Manager, Setiyono.
The seminar took place at Pancoran subdistrict office hall on Tuesday (8/29), attended by representatives of the local subdistrict, urban villages, puskesmas (public health clinics), posyandus (integrated health posts), FEW groups, and neighborhood youth organizations. Pancoran Subdistrict’s puskesmas head dr Sri Lenita MARS (equivalent to M.H.A.) was chosen as the speaker.

“I want to thank our partner, Korindo. Let’s take our collaboration and synergy further to bring a healthier society,” dr. Sri said.
This seminar aimed to teach proper ways to treat TB, as well as raise awareness and knowledge of TB prevention efforts.
Korindo Group is committed to improving Indonesians’ standards of living through its Corporate Social Contribution (CSC) programs that focus on creating a healthier society. (PR)
